Sharon and Molly Sue have settled into life together. We don’t hear in this segment about Molly Sue still asking for her mother, but she may still be. I would imagine from time to time that she would.

It is good to see her and Sharon working together in the flowerbed. We learn too that Molly Sue and her mother had a garden, so working in the flowerbed would be very similar and she would know how to plant and tend those plants even though she is only five.

Molly Sue working with Sharon to make lunch also seems very natural as if she had done this with her mother many times. We don’t know this for a fact, but much of this behavior leads us to see Molly Sue’s attributes.

Another thing we see here is Molly Sue’s natural thankfulness for lunch. She expresses this to Sharon. It is heartfelt and sincere.

Hearing her talk about their garden and how she and her mother laughed about calling the vegetables - veggie tables provided insight into how she and her mother were playful.

The pool scene was another new experience for Molly Sue, but I believe Sharon has come to be more responsive to Molly Sue’s needs and that she handled this beautifully.

All in all this section shows us truly what a well adjusted child Molly Sue is in general. She is happy, well-adjusted, skilled, and grateful. That is an excellent foundation from which to grow into an amazing adult.

I think we can all take a cue from this. Be happy in the simple things in life. Planting, playing in the water hose, and making sandwiches.

Yet how often are we truly grateful for the simple things in life like a tuna sandwich? If we learn those things early then we too will have a firm foundation for adulthood.

Of course we are long past our foundations being formed, but we can change. We can view the world differently and choose to become more thankful.

We may have hardships that seem out of our control, but maybe if instead of giving so much of our energy and focus to the hardship, we shift just a bit and direct out focus on what is good and right in our life.

I believe if we meditate on the good, the bad won’t look so overwhelming.

Also, I am convinced that practiced gratitude is necessary for anyone’s life. This side of heaven things will never be perfect. We can’t make it that way. But we can practice gratitude for all the many things that are.

If you give it a try I know you will soon have a much more positive and good attitude about life in general, just like Molly Sue.
