Miracle Story | God Brings Healing in Many Ways - Episode 28
This ties in somewhat with the previous miracle. As I mentioned there, I came back to Oklahoma with no job, no money, and no husband. I also became saddled with new debt that he insisted I pay in the divorce.
To top all that off, I began to bleed profusely as if I were having a heavy menstrual cycle every single day. I was so bad that many days I couldn’t leave the house.
I kept praying to God about it. My request was to heal me or show me what to do. I knew I didn’t want to go to a doctor for a medical diagnosis that would prophesy something over me I didn’t feel was correct. Not that I had the money to go to the doctor, anyway.
There were days it would ease up, and then I could look for work. I finally found a sales job selling hearing testing equipment to pediatricians. I had worked in pharmaceutical sales and in recruiting with my previous employer, so this seemed like a good fit and I was good at it.
I kept praying and praying about what to do to fix my health problem. I asked God what was happening and what I should do about it or please just make it stop.
As I went about my life, it seemed as though God would bring me little tidbits of information that I knew to tuck away for later. This went on randomly for a couple of months. I felt like I had a portion of the problem, but not the solution.
I had a dear male friend who felt like a brother to me, and we spent a ton of time together. One day I was telling him about my problem.
I had learned that all the pain medication, including Tylenol, that I had taken a few months earlier during my dental problems had caused toxins to build up in my liver. I had also learned that our liver regulates our hormones, and that was why everything was so out of whack.
It had been at least three full months of this. Bleeding every single day. But the moment I told all of this to my friend, he said he knew exactly what I needed and drove me to the pharmacy. He said I needed milk thistle.
He directed me to take mega doses for a few days and then gradually ease off. I did as he said.
Within two or three days the bleeding eased and then within one week everything was back to normal. I was healed.
Many may say that it was not a miracle, that I was healed by milk thistle. But the knowledge of the milk thistle came through the process God took me through. From knowing nothing about what to do to bringing me tiny bits of information that I would need to get to the place where I could be healed.
This was a time when, even though we had the internet, it was sketchy with not much information. He led me to the place where I would know to get the milk thistle.
He could have stopped the bleeding outright, but I believe that by taking me on a journey to my healing was a faith journey. I was adamant that my answer come from him and not a medical doctor. In my persistence in faith, He answered my prayer with a unique healing miracle.
I am not against medical doctors, but I feel that we often run straight to them instead of persisting with God first. Give him time to see your persistent faith, and he will answer and heal. It may not always look the way you thought it would, but the healing will come. In the end, he may encourage you to go see a medical doctor. But make sure you run to God first and get your answer from him before you make a move in any another direction.
This study is a culmination of this week’s Monday Meditation and the Wednesday Word Study. By drilling down on specific scriptures and then specific words, we can begin to gain a better understanding of the Word of God and therefore apply it to our lives more accurately. The Friday Finally episodes take both the Monday Meditation and Wednesday Word Study and pull them together for an overall teaching to equip and train us for a more Godly and beneficial life.
