Today’s Meditation Verse:

1 Peter 5:7

7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (Amplified Bible)

I Peter 5:7

7 casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (King James Bible)

Mostly when a scripture comes to my mind, it comes to me in the King James Version because that was the version I was reading and studying when the word of God first came alive to me and burned into my heart.

So that is the way I remember it, not from memorization, but because that is how it was seared into my heart.

But many years later, I discovered the Amplified Bible and fell in love all over again. Above you will see today’s Monday Meditation scripture in both the King James Version and also in the Amplified version.

The Amplified version expounds the meaning of the words so that you will have a clearer understanding. Sometimes, if you are reading long passages and you are not used to it, it becomes cumbersome. But in time you become comfortable with how the brackets divide out the meanings.

Today’s scripture is amazing in the Amplified version. It tells you to take the WHOLE of your care, not just a bit or the part that is troubling you the most, but ALL of your care and concerns and cast it [ONCE AND FOR ALL] on Him.

How many times do we attempt to do that and then, before we know it, we have picked them back up and have to do it all over again? Well, we must practice the art of casting them once and for all on Him!

We can do this peacefully because—He cares for you and me affectionately and cares about you and me watchfully! Awe, His eye is there, watching over us always! Affectionately, as a parent watches over that tiny infant that they love so dearly, always watching, always attentive. That is our Father, God!

Each Monday I am going to have ‘Monday Meditations’. I hope to bring to you each Monday a verse to meditate on for the week. This is not for memorization, but to think about and to dwell on. The word meditate, in the Bible, means to mutter. So this week as you go about your life, think about and mutter to yourself the verse for the week and think about how it applies to your life. Meditating on a verse will bind it to your spirit, and it will become part of you! The more of the Word you meditate on, the more it will transform you into the image of Christ!
